“Homicide: Life on the Street” (Peacock)

Welcome to an all-new TV or Not TV roundup of new and noteworthy programming on broadcast, cable and streaming this week. I’m Matt Cooper, former listings coordinator for the Los Angeles Times’ Calendar.

Now where’s that remote?

The finish line is in sight on the Season 17 finale of “The Great Food Truck Race” hosted by Tyler Florence. 8 p.m. Food Network

The really big chill: Former college friends reunited at an abandoned ski resort are menaced by a person or persons unknown in the new thriller “Trapped in the Rocky Mountains.” 8 p.m. Lifetime

A crew of intrepid “OceanXplorers” hits the high seas in a high-tech research vessel in this new six-part series from “Avatar” director James Cameron. 9 and 9:55 p.m. National Geographic; also Monday on Hulu and Disney+

Too much monkey business! An exotic animal broker forms an unusual bond with one particular chimpanzee, putting her on a collision course with PETA as well as federal law enforcement, in the new docuseries “Chimp Crazy.” 10 p.m. HBO

Monday — Aug. 19

Broadcast networks and cable news outlets will offer live coverage of the four-night 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Various times and channels, thru Thursday

Life as a duck isn’t all it’s quacked up to be in the family friendly 2023 animated tale “Migration” featuring the voices of Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Awkwafina, Carol Kane, Danny DeVito and Keegan-Michael Key. Anytime, Netflix

“Under the Vines,” the imported dramedy about mismatched ex-pat co-owners of a vineyard in rural New Zealand, uncorks a third season. With Rebecca Gibney and “The Crown’s” Charles Edwards. Anytime, Acorn TV
