The pro football quarterback widely regarded as the greatest of all time gets taken down a peg or two in the new star-studded live special “The Roast of Tom Brady” hosted by comic Kevin Hart. 5 p.m. Netflix

Trash will be talked, drinks thrown, etc. when “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” return in new episodes of this Garden State entry in the long-lived reality TV franchise. 8 p.m. Bravo

“The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” looks to the Land Down Under to see what global warming may have in store for us all in the new episode “Warning to the World: Australia’s Climate Disasters.” 8 p.m. CNN

A customer service rep is harassed by a mystery caller — and what’s worse, he never sticks around to take that brief survey to rate her performance – in the new thriller “My Life is on the Line.” With Andrea Pazmino. 8 p.m. Lifetime

Two estranged sisters discover their dearly departed mother was leading a double life in the new drama “MaryLand.” With Eve Best, Suranne Jones and Stockard Channing. 9 p.m. KOCE

Those who lived to tell the tale do so in the new six-part true crime series “People Magazine Investigates: Surviving a Serial Killer.” 9 p.m Investigation Discovery


Monday — May 6

Comic John Mulaney continues his nightly reports from the citywide “Netflix is a Joke” comedy festival in new episodes of “Everybody’s in L.A.” 7 p.m. Netflix; also Tuesday-Friday

R&B singer and reality TV veteran Toni Braxton guest stars as herself on the Season 6 finale of Max Greenfield-Cedric the Entertainer sitcom “The Neighborhood.” 8 p.m. CBS

The sitcom “Bob Hearts Abishola” skips ahead seven years to see how things have turned out for the hopefully still-happy couple in the series finale. Billy Gardell and Folake Olowofoyeku star. 8:30 p.m. CBS

Some like it haute: “Uncut Gems’” co-star Julia Fox is your hostess with the mostest for the new cutting-edge fashion design competition “OMG Fashun.” 9 and 9:30 p.m. E!

Ooh la la! Ten top-notch American bakers test their skills in the City of Light in the new competition “Next Baking Master: Paris” hosted by chefs Ludo Lefebvre and Stephanie Boswell. 9 p.m. Food Network

Ground control to Major Tom… A NASA psychologist tries to prepare astronauts for the mental and emotional challenges of a lengthy mission to Mars in the 2023 documentary “Space: The Longest Goodbye” on a new “Independent Lens.” 10 p.m. KOCE
