Sunday — July 5

The Round of 16 continues at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with quarterfinal matches commencing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (Various days and times on Fox, FS1, Peacock, Telemundo & Universo; check the FIFA website for details)

Live coverage of each and every stage of cycling’s 2026 Tour de France also continues. (Various days and times thru July 26 on NBC and Peacock; check the NBC Sports website for details)

Play continues at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. (Various days and times through July 12 on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN+; check the ESPN website for details)

Cue the cello: Nat Geo’s annual Sharkfest event returns with “Hammerhead Sharks Up Close with Bertie Gregory” and “World’s Biggest Sharks” (9 and 10 p.m. National Geographic), while the entire week’s worth of specials will be available to stream immediately. (Anytime, Hulu and Disney+)

Monday — July 6

“Inspector Ellis” is back on the case in a second season of this mystery drama about a police detective (Sharon D. Clarke) and her partner (Andrew Gower) who travel from town to town cracking the tough cases local police can’t. (Anytime, Acorn TV)

Operation Overlord — the invasion of Normandy by Allied forces on D-Day, June 6, 1944 — is remembered in a new installment of “World War II with Tom Hanks.” A second new episode follows. (8 and 9 p.m. History Channel)

Airing on “Independent Lens,” the 2025 documentary “True North: Canadian Myths and Black Power” tells the story of a student-led protest against systemic racism at Sir George Williams University in Montreal in 1968. (10 p.m. PBS)
